Hi, I’m Jessica Metzler, LPN.
I created Rehab Ready to help families feel more prepared when someone they love is going from the hospital to a rehab facility, nursing home, or short-term rehab stay.
I’ve spent more than 25 years working inside nursing home and rehab settings. I’ve seen how fast the process can move, how overwhelmed families can feel, and how many people are unsure what to ask once rehab begins.
Most families care deeply. They show up. They visit. They call. They want to help.
But caring is not the same as knowing what questions to ask.
That is why Rehab Ready exists.
If someone you love is heading to rehab, you do not have to figure out every question at once.
Start with the Rehab Questions Guide, or book an SOS Call if you want help sorting through your loved one’s specific situation.
Why I Created Rehab Ready When a loved one enters rehab after a hospital stay, families are often given a lot of information quickly — or not enough information at all. You may be trying to understand:
Rehab Ready was created to give families practical, plain-language tools they can use during this stressful transition
Rehab Ready helps families feel more organized, prepared, and confident during the hospital-to-rehab transition. The resources are designed to help you:
Know what questions to ask
You do not have to know everything. You just need a clearer starting point. A Practical, Family-Focused Approach Rehab Ready is not about replacing the rehab team. It is about helping families communicate more clearly, stay organized, and better understand what to ask. The goal is simple: Help families feel more prepared before, during, and after a rehab stay.
If your loved one is heading to rehab, already in rehab, or preparing to come home, you have two ways to get help. You can start with the Rehab Questions Guide for practical questions to ask.
You can also book a private Rehab Ready SOS Call if you want help sorting through your loved one’s specific situation.
“My husband went into rehab after knee surgery, and there was a moment when he was scared, confused, and thought he was dying. I did not know what was normal, what to ask, or who to talk to. Jessica understood exactly what we were going through and helped turn an overwhelming situation into something that felt more manageable. Her guidance was practical, clear, and based on real experience.”

“My dad fell more than once during his first night in rehab, and we had no idea what we should have asked before he arrived. We were scared, frustrated, and unsure who was responsible for explaining what happened. Jessica’s guidance helped us get organized, ask better questions, and understand what information we needed from the rehab team.”

“My mom went to rehab after a hospital stay, and I thought the facility would tell us if something was wrong. But within a couple of days, she was barely eating, seemed weaker, and we didn’t know what questions to ask. Jessica helped us understand what to pay attention to and how to ask clearer questions without feeling like we were being difficult. It made the whole situation feel less overwhelming.”
